    Thames Valley Police is appealing for the public’s help to trace a missing woman from Reading. Rebecca Pitt, aged 21, who is a patient at Prospect Park Hospital, was receiving treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital when she went missing on Saturday morning (21/1).     Annual crime statistics released by the Home Office on Thursday 19th January, show the overall level of crime in the Thames Valley area has fallen by more than 11 per cent, the second largest reduction in England and Wales. The National Crime Statistics for October 2010 to September 2011, shows there were 19,873 fewer crimes in the Thames Valley area compared with the same period in 2009/10.     Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police have moved a step closer to the implementation of their Joint Operations Unit (JOU), by signing a legal agreement under section 23 of the Police Act 1996, which covers how the two forces will work together.     Antony Worrall Thompson cautioned for Tesco shoplifting

    TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson has been cautioned by police for shoplifting. Police arrested the 60-year-old at the Tesco store in Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on Friday. Mr Worrall Thompson, from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, was questioned and given a formal caution. A police spokesman said the incident involved “low value goods”.
