    Breaking News – Car plunges in to the Thames near Reading Bridge.  It is reported that emergency services were alerted to the incident just after 5:10pm today and multiple fire, police and recuse services were on scene.  Emergency Services reported that no body was found inside the vehicle and were searching the near by area.     A father and son from Berkshire, who have both been diabetic since the age of two, are using a dog to help them manage their condition. Neil Downing and his eight-year-old son Jack, from Reading, have Type 1 diabetes. It stops a person’s body from producing insulin in the pancreas, which controls blood sugar levels.     A Berkshire council’s plans could force estate and letting agents to apply for consent before putting up signs. Reading borough said it was reacting to a petition from residents living in the university area about the amount of boards “littering” their streets.     Five chickens donated to Reading primary school after theft

    Chickens have been donated to a Reading school to replace five birds stolen on Saturday. CCTV images showed a man entering the Ridgeway Primary School with a rucksack and stealing the chickens, which the children had hand-reared from eggs. Jackie Rowberry, who supplies animals for TV and films, heard about the story and decided to donate five hens. She said: “I was outraged. The kids were ever so upset.     Lowest teenage pregnancy rates in Reading since 1998

    The number of teenage pregnancies in Reading is at its lowest for 13 years, new figures have revealed. The latest quarterly average of 41.7 pregnancies per 1,000 in Reading is the lowest recorded since the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy set up in 1998. Reading achieved an overall reduction in teenage conceptions of 33.7% since 1998, Reading Borough Council said.     Public Sector Strike On Wednesday 30th November protestors all round England marched through the streets in support of the public sector strikes over pensions. The march started at the civic centre at quarter past twelve. Protestors marched peacefully, some flying flags and waving foam hands, whilst others were blowing horns, whistles and banging drums.
