  Holocaust Memorial Event to Take Place in Town

  An evening of reflection to remember victims of the Holocaust is to take place at the Civic Centre on January 25th. The theme for the event  asks us all to ‘Speak Up, Speak Out’.   Neil Gaiman’s “Neverwhere” to be performed theatrically in January 2012

  Neil Gaiman’s urban fantasy “Neverwhere” will be performed at Progress Theatre in Reading, January 19th – January 28th 2012. From the writer of Coraline, Stardust and an episode of Dr. Who; Neverwhere was originally created as a BBC2 television series in 1996, produced by Lenny Henry.   Reading Civic Carol Service

  One of the highlights of the festive calendar, the Civic Carol Service, takes place in Reading next week. The service will be at Reading Minster Church of St Mary the Virgin, St Mary’s Butts on Thursday, December 15th. It is a traditional service of lessons and carols retelling the story of the Nativity.   The Good Natured to play free gig

  Fresh from recording in Sweden, The Good Natured from Berkshire are heading to Reading for a free gig on Saturday 10 December. The electro trio fronted by Sarah McIntosh performed as special guests on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury this year, despite suffering from a broken foot.   Melvin Benn Donates £15,000 to Mayor’s Fund   Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic the man behind Reading Festival, will be presenting a cheque for £15k to Reading’s Mayor Deborah Edwards to boost her ambitious charity fundraising.
