Plymouth fireworks November 2011
Plymouth’s main civic firework display will be held on Plymouth Hoe on November 5 this year, with entertainment starting at 6pm. Music and entertainment will start on a stage on The Hoe at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm and fireworks will be launched at 8pm. The display will be set to a dramatic musical soundtrack and Smeaton’s Tower, the Citadel and the War Memorial will be ‘colourwashed’ with coloured floodlighting to complement the glow of the bonfire. Restaurant enjoys taste of success at curry awards
A Plymouth restaurant has been named the Best Indian in the Westcountry at a glitzy awards ceremony in the capital. Staff at the Jaipur Palace are celebrating after tasting success in the Asian Curry Awards. The Bretonside restaurant scooped the prestigious prize by adding its expert touch to some city-caught sea bass. Plymouth battered by torrential rain
Plymouth was yesterday battered by torrential downpours as nearly a third of the average rainfall for the month of October fell in less than a day. In a 20-hour period from 6pm on Sunday, 29.2mm of rain fell in the city. The average for the whole of October is 88mm.
