Written by Beck and record producer Carl Stephenson, ‘Loser’ was initially released as Beck’s second single by an independant record label. Following massive airplay, the song’s popularity eventually led to a major label record deal with DGC Records. The song was subsequently released on the 1994 album Mellow Gold. The song peaked at number 15 in the UK singles chart in 1994.
“Take on Me” is a song by the Norwegian pop band A-ha. Written by the band members, the song was produced by Alan Tarney for the group’s first studio album Hunting High and Low. After two unsuccessful attempts the song was released for a third time in the United Kingdom in September 1985. It debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number fifty-five and peaked at number two for three weeks.
