Marlow Regatta 2012

Marlow Regatta is held at Dorney Lake – the venue for the 2012 Olympic Rowing. It is to be held on Saturday 16th June and Sunday 17th June. On the Saturday, all races are over the full Olympic distance of 2,000m and the Regatta usually attracts all the best crews from Clubs, Schools and Universities in the UK, plus some from abroad. We have seen crews from Australia, USA, China in the past, as well as from the Continent. Races are programmed every five minutes, so there is always a race coming down the course. The usual range of refreshments and a bar is available both days.

Please read the following, but if you have further questions please e-mail subscribe@themarlowregatta.comor phone 01628 525977.

On Saturday

There are three ways that you can experience the Regatta as a spectator;-

1. Just come along and watch

Admission to the course is by car, for which a charge of £TBA is made, regardless of how many occupants; we like to encourage car-sharing! The Car Park is alongside the Lake, where a well surfaced path allows you to walk the whole length, from Start to Finish, with a race passing you every five minutes.

2.Become a Subscriber – get the best views – plus other benefits.

If you want to be certain of a prime car parking space and a really good view of the Finish, then this is possible, by becoming a Subscriber to the Regatta. Subscribers can pre-purchase reserved Car Park spaces (ideal for pic-nics) or alternatively order buffet lunches and teas, which are served in the Enclosure, right on the finish line. We do ask Subscribers and their guests to maintain a reasonable dress standard. Click here for further details.

3. Book a Club Gazebo

If you are coming as a group of Club supporters, then it is possible to book a spot for you to erect your own gazebo. This can then act as a focal point for all the Club’s supporters, alumni and competitors to gather, and generate some real Club Spirit! Click here to download an application form, or here to place an order on-line

On Sunday

Racing is over the last 1,000m of the course. Admission is by car at £TBA, regardless of how many occupants; we like to encourage car-sharing! The Car Park is alongside the Lake, where a well surfaced path allows you to walk the whole length, from Start to Finish, with a race passing you every five minutes.

On Sunday, the Enclosure area is open to all, and no dress codes are required.
